a tale of two wheels and a little targhee

the big reeves came out to play

a little finial pr0n

sweet grass wool mountain top targhee, i think it is this one , but i am not sure as i bought it from needledancer and the label has no contact info. it's a green label.
targhee is a wool i had wanted to try, so i snapped it up. for me, the targhee wanted to be spun worsted and liked to be stripped into pencil roving sized lengths. plus i wanted shorter color bursts. a joy to spin.

ah, rick reeves, how i wish you were still making wheels. the wide treadle, the baby smooth wood, the exquisite turnings

lookie what came in the mail, a lovely lovely quilted maple robin, this wood is UNREAL!

the robin spins like a dream :-)
gil surely builds a beautiful wheel!

this is the perfect plying wheel, the bobbins are humongous! and the robin is as quiet as a mouse.

reeves "bug" kate.

when i finished plying i was a bit concerned that the yarn was overplied,

but after a nice lavendar shampoo and conditioning, the yarn is hanging perfectly balanced.

2ply laceweight 792 yds

how lucky a mimi am i?
my gingersnap and her mom are living with us for the summer.
my son is leaving the full time navy, and will start law school here in fort lauderdale this fall. he will stay in the reserves, and will continue his job as an instructor pilot until school starts.
until they move into their new home, gingersnap is mine all mine!

does this say summer or what!
